Muzaffarnagar: Hours Before Cremation of Headless Body, ‘Missing’ Man Found Living With Girlfriend in Chandigarh
On Thursday, the family took possession of the remains and started plans for cremation. But on Wednesday night, authorities discovered the "missing" young person in Chandigarh, where he was residing with the female he had run away with.
Chandigarh, September 15: Just hours before his cremation, a man was discovered alive in Chandigarh, days after authorities discovered a decapitated body in a gutter and eventually determined it to be the body of a missing man from Muzaffarnagar in Uttar Pradesh.
On September 9, a corpse with severed arms and skull was discovered in Meerut's Daurala neighbourhood. Local police sent a message in the nearby area, to which local authorities alerted about a man named Monty Kumar, 20, who had gone "missing" in Mansoorpur town. The body was recognised by the family when they arrived at the Meerut mortuary, thinking that "since the missing boy had tattoos in the neck and arms, the assailants may have severed the body parts to hide his identity." Ashish Chaudhary, the SHO for Mansoorpur, stated, "We were constantly tracking the pair through mobile phone surveillance. The family's stated body wasn't that of the'missing' youngster. The corpse has already been returned to the mortuary by Meerut police.
Police sources claim that Monty was having a relationship with an 18-year-old local girl. She and him eloped to Chandigarh on the evening of August 28.
Following that, her family reported Monty to the police in Mansoorpur for abduction.
