The Amritsar railway accident, which resulted in the death of 61 people and injured about the same number of spectators who had gone to watch the Ravan dahan, is still fresh in the minds of the people. However, though it has hardly been few days since the tragic accident, there are other places in the country where railway accidents of similar nature can strike disaster. One such video has emerged from Mumbai's Diva station, which is on the Central line of the railways. After the tragic Amritsar train accident, a video shared on social media of Diva station shows passengers waiting on railway lines. Though it is not clear why the passengers are on track, the very act reminds one of the brutal accident that took place on 19th October, Friday. Meanwhile, the situation remained tense after the accident in Punjab as locals continued with their sit-in at Joda Patak where 61 Dussehra revellers were mowed down by a train. Amritsar Train Accident: Indian Railways Cancels 37 Trains, Diverts 16; View Complete List.

The locals had started protesting Saturday, raising slogans against the state government and demanding action against the train's driver, a day after the accident here.  The Punjab Police has deployed its personnel, including commandos, to manage the crowd. The Rapid Action Force is also present in the Joda Patak area. Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh, who visited the accident site Saturday, has ordered a magisterial inquiry into the incident.
