Mumbai, November 30: A 38-year-old woman, who tried to commit suicide on Wednesday evening at Jogeshwari railway station by jumping in front of a moving train, was saved by her 16-year-old daughter just in the nick of time. However, both the mother and the daughter were hit by the train and are in hospital. A report in English daily Mumbai Mirror said that the 38-year-old Sunita Widhale tried to commit suicide and came in front of the Churchgate bound local on Wednesday evening. However, her daughter rescued her by pulling her back. But both of them sustained injuries during the incident.
The whole incident was captured in the CCTV footage which shows a woman running towards the train and another woman running behind her. The footage shows that the woman behind, who is the daughter of the woman, pulls her back.
However, Sunita Widhale's husband, who is in a state of shock, has denied the report that Sunita tried to commit suicide. He said that the two were simply trying to cross the railway track. But the Railway Police said that they were looking at the case as a suicide attempt.
Sunita's daughter has sustained injuries on her forehead and eyes. But Sunita continues to be critical. Sunita has lost her left arm and continues to be critical. She is yet to regain consciousness, said the report.
