Mumbai, June 24: Case of theft are on the rising in the Mumbai Central railway station these days and due to this, commuters have become cautious. In the latest, a woman - Nandini Belekar - thrashed a railway staff for alleged theft of her mobile phone. Soon after the thrashing, the video has gone viral in social media.

According to the incident, as reported in the mid-day newspaper, Belekar went to buy purchase a railway ticket and mistakenly leaves her phone on the counter itself. Realising her mistake, she returned back to the counter and asked about her phone to the Indian Railways staff. Indian Railways Plans to Run Delhi-Mumbai, Delhi-Howrah Trains at 160 kmh

Suspecting something wrong, she barged into the ticket seller's cabin and searched him. She saw the phone and found that the ticket seller has removed the SIM card from it. Following this, she lost her temper and thrashed him.

The ticket seller has been identified as Sr ACC Manoj Jaiswal. Though the incident occurred on June 20 when Belekar reached Mumbai Central and bought a ticket to Khar, the video of the incident became viral days after it.

Adding more information to the incident, CPRO of Western Railway Ravindra Bhakar said, as the daily quotes, "The female passenger alleged that she forgot her mobile at the booking counter at Mumbai Central at 6 pm. She checked the clerk's pocket and found her mobile."

Stating that the booking clerk has been suspended, senior inspector GRP Mumbai Central Shailendra Dhiwar said, "We have not received any complaint from the female passenger. Based on the reports, the booking clerk has been suspended."
