Mumbai, September 2: A woman gave birth on a bridge at Nalasopara railway station in Mumbai on Sunday. The woman and the infant have been admitted to a nearby civil hospital. In a similar incident on July 16, a 30-year-old passenger, a resident of Ghatkopar who was heading to her parents’ home in Hyderabad, gave birth to twins at Kalyan railway station.

In this case, Shaikh Salma Tabassum went into labour while she was travelling on a Visakhapatnam-bound train. Meanwhile, in another case, A 25-year-old woman from Nalasopara delivered a baby girl inside the first class ladies compartment of a local train at the Vasai railway station on August 1.
Three trained nurses travelling in the same compartment helped 25-year-old Poonam Singh to deliver a baby girl. Singh and his mother were going to Bhagwati hospital in Borivli for a checkup when she felt contractions and felt unconscious. The windows of the compartment were shut, and the three nurses guided to her first delivery.
