Mumbai Weather Forecast: IMD Says Heavy Rains to Continue For Next 24 Hours
Heavy rains continued to lash the Konkan belt including Mumbai, Vasai, Virar, Raigad, Sindhudurg regions since Sunday
Mumbai, July 9: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in Mumbai and suburban regions for the next 24 hours. As per the information received from the disaster management cell, along with heavy rainfall, high tide has been predicted at 8: 19 pm of 3.62 metre, while the low tide is predicted at 2:30 pm of 2.12 metre.
As incessant rains continued to lash the city for the third day on Monday, several parts of Mumbai experienced waterlogging. Mumbai Police diverted a few routes, which included Khar Milan Subway, Andheri Subway early on Monday morning due to waterlogging. These routes have now been reportedly restored for traffic movement after water was flushed by using de-watering pumps by the BMC's drain water management workers who are deployed at the spot.
Similarly, other areas like Dadar Hindmata, Parel, Sion, Chembur, Bandra SV Road also witnessed waterlogging. The BMC's disaster management cell further stated that to drain the rainwater from Hindamata area, five dewatering pumps were in operation. Besides, manholes have been opened in the area to remove the accumulated water. BMC workers were on the spot to alert people about the open manhole work. Furthermore, the civic body also claimed that the rainwater has receded and no major flooding was reported in the area.

The Met has forecast heavy rainfall in all these regions and alerted citizens not to venture out of the houses until it's necessary. Following heavy rains and waterlogging, Mumbai traffic police has issued an advisory asking people to plan their travel accordingly.
