Mumbai, December 19: 24-year-old Vishal Baliram Singh had no clue about a hidden talent of a 15-year-old visually-challenged girl when he molested her on a local train. The girl, who is trained in martial arts, exhibited her skills and pinned down Singh before handing him over to the police. The incident took place on Monday night when she was travelling to Kalyan with her father.

According to reports, the girl and her father boarded the compartment reserved for differently-abled people on the 8:12 pm Kalyan local from platform number 1 of Dadar station. Ticket-less Singh also boarded the compartment and stood right next to the girl. He then started touching her inappropriately, according to the girl's statement to the police.

The girl immediately caught hold of his hand and twisted it. Her father also slapped him. However, Singh refused to budge and started arguing with them. He allegedly manhandled the girl's father. The girl then twisted Singh’s hand so hard that he screamed, which got the attention of other passengers. The girl’s father called GRP officers patrolling the platform when the train halted at Matunga station and handed Singh over.

“Until the train reached the next station, Matunga, the girl held Singh — much taller than she is — in a tight grip,” Prasad Pandhare, senior police inspector, Dadar GRP, told Hindustan Times. "Singh’s fingers would have broken if she had not eased her grip soon enough," he added. The accused is a computer maintenance technician at a private firm, and a resident of Mulund.

The police booked Singh under the stringent Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. He was produced before a railway court where he was remanded to two days in police custody.
