Mumbai: Upset Over Being Scolded, Two Girls Commits Suicide in Separate Incidents
In two separate incidents, two teenage girls have committed suicide on Sunday at Wadala TT and Sion Koliwada, respectively.
Mumbai, October 10: Two teenage girls committed suicide on Sunday at Wadala TT and Sion Koliwada, respectively, in two separate incidents. Both the girls took their lives in the same way. In the first incident, a 13-year-old girl committed suicide by hanging herself after being scolded by a class teacher, while in the second case, a 16-year-old girl hung herself after being scolded by her mother. In the first incident, Julie Sharma (13), a class VI student at KD Gaikwad school, alleged that her teacher had insulted her in class. She narrated the whole incident that happened in the class to her parents and cried her heart out of feeling ashamed that she was scolded in front of other students. Hours later, she hung herself from the ceiling fan. By the time her parents could rush her to the hospital she died of asphyxiation. Five Students of Chennai Govt. Following her death, Julie's parents and relatives protested and pressured police demanding to register a case against the teacher, Anil Pal. Later, the teacher was booked under the section of 306 of Indian Penal Code.
In the second incident, Shalini Bekyri, a class 10 student, reached home distressed from school. She got indulged into a heated argument with her mother, who was scolding her to work hard and prepare hard for the upcoming board exams. Unable to bear the stress, when her mother left home, she allegedly hung herself. On being rushed to hospital she was declared brought dead. A suicide note was also recovered from her home which is being intercepted.
