Mumbai, July 6: In a tragic incident, two people drowned at sea near Marine Drive on Saturday. According to reports, around 2 pm, a man drowned in the sea, while another man who jumped to save him is also reported to be missing. After the incident, police and fire brigade immediately rushed to the spot and initiated an operation to rescue the men. Later, Indian Navy divers also joined the rescue operation. Till now bodies of the drowned have not been recovered. More details are still awaited. In a similar incident on July 1, a 21-year-old man from Thane allegedly drowned in a pond in Badlapur. The deceased was identified as Roshan More. He had gone to Badlapur for a picnic. Due to heavy rains in Mumbai, the maximum city is under a continuous threat of high tides. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) disaster control management last week issued an advisory during is year’s monsoon there will be 23 high-tide days when the sea level will be above 4.6 metre.
