Mumbai, January 8: In the last four years, Mumbai Railways witnessed the least accidental deaths. According to a Times of India report, nearly 2,700 commuters were killed last year, which is 19 percent lower than the fatalities recorded in 2015. In 2019, 89 percent of the casualties were men and crossing tracks was the biggest killer.
More than 1,400 commuters were killed while trying to cross railway tracks. Around 600 people died after falling from locals last year.
