Mumbai: Three Workers Die While Cleaning Septic Tank in Govandi
In a tragic incident three laboures died while cleaning a septic tank in Mumbai’s Govandi area on Monday. The incident took place in Ganeshwadi locality near Raheja police station. The deceased are yet to be identified. According to reports, the labourers were taken to the Shatabdi Hospital at Govandi after they fell unconscious.
Mumbai, December 23: In a tragic incident three workers died while cleaning a septic tank in Mumbai’s Govandi area on Monday. The incident took place in Ganeshwadi locality near Raheja police station. The deceased are yet to be identified. According to reports, the workers were taken to the Shatabdi Hospital at Govandi after they fell unconscious while cleaning the tank. They were declared brought dead by doctors. Earlier in November also, five labourers died after inhaling poisonous gas from a septic tank that was being repaired in Katghar Chiranepatti village under Dostpur police station in Sultanpur. Six people had reportedly gone down a septic tank to repair it. Five persons died within minutes while the sixth person was taken out unconscious.
In September this year, three workers died due to suffocation in Barpeta district of lower Assam. According to reports, the workers entered the septic tank of an under-construction building in the night. The workers entered 13 feet underground tank.
