A 38-year-old woman allegedly committed suicide by jumping off the terrace on Thursday night from her Andheri residence in Lokhandwala. The preliminary report suggests that the deceased was an aspiring actor. When police were informed about the case, they reached the spot and took the woman to Kokilaben Hospital, but she was declared dead there. No suicide note has been found, but a probe is on to find what led to taking such an extreme step. In another incident in the city, a college student committed suicide by jumping from the roof of his residence. According to the Times of India report, the boy had lost his sister last year due to an illness.
In a recent incident, a man in Mumbai allegedly murdered his wife by slitting her throat and left his two toddlers with the dead body. Reports inform that after the 31-year-old man killed his wife, he locked his two daughters, aged one and two years in their chawl in Uran area of Navi Mumbai. The man then committed suicide by jumping in front of railway tracks located 1.5 km away from his house. Lately, there has been a sudden increase in suicide cases in Mumbai.
