Mumbai, January 19: A class 10 student was abused and slapped by his classmates who 'wanted to teach him a lesson' for bullying other children in the school. The incident came to light when the victim's father received the video of his son being beaten up on WhatsApp. Stunned father then filed a complaint against the three alleged attackers at MHB Colony police station.

 According to the police, the victim had allegedly bullied some students in front of other classmates. Irked at him, three of his classmates decided to teach him a lesson. "Last Saturday, they cornered him outside the school campus and took him behind a bus where they took turns to abuse and slap him," a police officer told TOI.

One of the attackers recorded the video of the incident and sent it to the victim's father, said the police. All the accused and victim are 15-year-old. Therefore, the filed a non-cognizable offence against the boys and informed their parents about their action. "Whatever happened was not right. I did not want to take action against the boys, but had I not done so, they would've got a wrong signal. I lodged a complaint so that they will know the seriousness of this matter," he was quoted as saying. The police let the boys go after counselling. The school principal said disciplinary action was taken against those involved in the incident.
