Mumbai Splashed With Heavy Rains, Thunderstorm; Twitter Goes Berserk

Mumbai, September 27: Heavy rains splashed Mumbai on Thursday evening, along with massive thunderstorms. The city was caught by surprise with the rough weather as no rains were witnessed in the past few days.

The rains also caused water-logging in some parts of Mumbai, including the seaside area of Nepeansea Road where the downpour occurred with an unprecedented intensity. Water-logging was also reported in Lower Parel region. 25 Killed in Rains Across North India.

The western centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD) has refrained from issuing any alert in the city despite the heavy rainfall. IMD deputy director-general KS Hosalikar said this is "typical-September weather", with nothing unusual about it.

Apart from Mumbai, rains were also reported in neighbouring Pune, where waterlogging was reported in some parts of the city.
