Mumbai, October 17: According to authorities, a 21-year-old woman from Bhandup was beaten and raped by a man she refused to marry. The incident came to light on Sunday evening, October 15, when the woman approached the Bhandup police. According to her testimony, she was friends with the accused, a 27-year-old Bhandup resident. The man purportedly expressed his love for her and his desire to begin a relationship a few weeks ago. After a short while, when the man offered her marriage, she gently declined for personal reasons.
Here's What Happened
The man asked her to a meet-up at the Madras Café in Bhandup West on October 12. After they had spoken for a while about marriage and her refusal, the man began hitting her, then shoved her to the ground and kicked her repeatedly. The latter invited her again by taking a rickshaw near her residence and vowing not to do anything wrong on October 14. When she declined to see him, he threatened her with posting recordings and photos of them on social media. He further threatened to send the videos to her relatives and family members. Fearing the same, the victim succumbed and went to meet him.
Accused Blackmail the Victim, Raped
The accused drove her to Andheri, near Takshila Police Station, and forced her into a hotel by threatening her with her private videos. According to the victim, after checking into the hotel, the male pushed himself on her and reportedly raped her.
