Mumbai, January 18: The Mumbai police recently booked a couple for allegedly extorting money from a 41-year-old executive in the city. Police official said that the accused have been identified as Kajal Mahato (25), and her husband, Harishankar Mahato (30). Both are residents of of Bhagat Singh Nagar in Goregaon.

According to a report in the Hindustan Times, the woman first developed a friendship with the man and then recorded an intimate video of them. A police officer said that in the beginning, the woman demanded an LED TV and gold chain. Later, she started demanding money. When the victim, who works as an executive with an infrastructure company refused to give her money, she started threatening him.

The woman told the man that she will show their intimate video and pictures to his wife and other family members. The woman did not stop there and even threatened to file a rape case against him. Kajal further demanded Rs 10 lakh and when the complainant refused, her husband Harishankar also threatened him and he approached us," an officer said. Ravindra Howale, senior police inspector said, "We have registered an extortion case against the couple and will probe the allegations." Howale also said that no arrest has been made in the matter so far.
