Mumbai, August 31: In a heartbreaking incident, an eight-year-old boy at Nirmala School in Kandivali East died at a hospital on Friday, August 30, after suffering an epileptic fit during a physical training (PT) period. The deceased boy, Shivansh Jha, a class III student, was playing with his friends during the PT period in school when he suffered an epileptic seizure and collapsed on the carpet. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was declared dead.

According to a report published by the Times of India, the incident occurred around 3 pm when students were playing hop on mats laid out on the school grounds. CCTV footage captured the moment Shivansh experienced the fit and collapsed. School staff promptly informed his family and rushed him to Shreeji Hospital, where he was declared to be in critical condition. Student Dies After Suffering Epileptic Attack During PT Period

The Samta Nagar Police have registered an accidental death case and are awaiting the results of a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death. Authorities will also be speaking with Shivansh's parents to ascertain if he had any prior medical conditions. In another incident, a student from Mumbai's Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) was found dead at his rented apartment on Saturday morning, prompting an investigation into the circumstances leading to his death. The student, identified as Anurag Jaiswal, hailed from Lucknow and was pursuing a degree in Human Resource Management.
