Mumbai, August 28: In a shocking incident in Mumbai, a 26-year-old man was stabbed 11 times in Chembur. The incident occurred on Saturday when the victim, identified as Shiva Gupta, was stabbed by six people over an old enmity that began a year ago due to a fight at a political rally. Police officials said that Gupta, a resident of Chembur, is undergoing treatment in the Intensive Care Unit ward of Sion Hospital.

According to a report in the Hindustan Times, the police have arrested one of the accused, while the others are still at large. A police officer said the enmity began over a year ago during a political rally in Matunga. Back then, the accused allegedly fought with Gupta and even assaulted him. The incident occurred on Saturday when Gupta was on his way to meet his friend in Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC). When Gupta reached Laldongar in Chembur, three accused named Gotya, Shetty, and Shaikh intercepted him. Later, three more people joined them, and they caught hold of Gupta. The six accused stabbed Gupta 11 times in broad daylight.

An official said that Gupta was stabbed in his neck, face, chest, abdomen, head and right hand. The official also said that when Gupta was stabbed, passersby fled the spot as the accused waved a knife and threatened them. Gupta was screaming for help; however, no one came to his aid. The six accused have been booked under various sections of the Indian Penal Code.
