Mumbai, October 7: In a disturbing case, a mechanical engineer secretly married his girlfriend at a temple in Ghatkopar, promising to officially marry her after a year. After their secret union, he reportedly took her to various lodges, where he recorded their intimate moments without her consent. The situation took a sinister turn when he began to blackmail her with the videos, demanding money in exchange for silence. When the woman and her family sought an official marriage, he allegedly threatened to share the explicit footage online, further manipulating her into compliance.

The troubling saga began in 2022 when the two met online, and Suvarna proposed to her, assuring her that their caste differences would not be an obstacle. Claiming to work in Qatar, he won her trust and made promises of a future together. In 2023, when he returned to Mumbai, they visited a temple, where they entered into a secret marriage. However, instead of a commitment to a life together, the relationship took a dark turn as Suvarna's true intentions began to surface. Mumbai Shocker: Man's Missing Complaint Reveals He Was Sexually Abusing Teenager Daughter For 5 Years.

According to a report by Times of India, Suvarna engaged in increasingly controlling behaviour after their marriage, using the secretly recorded intimate moments as leverage against the woman. After a troubling encounter in July, where he recorded their interactions at a city lodge, the victim discovered the videos and requested he delete them. However, Suvarna refused, instead using the footage as a means to manipulate and extort money from her, which left her feeling trapped and fearful. Mumbai Shocker: Girl Student Molested by Autorickshaw Driver on Way To School in Borivali, Case Registered.

The case came to a head last month when the woman approached Suvarna to discuss formalising their marriage with his family. During this discussion, he allegedly threatened to expose the explicit footage if she persisted. This intimidation tactic finally drove the woman to seek assistance from the Ghatkopar police. Following her report, authorities began investigating the allegations, leading to Suvarna's arrest.
