Mumbai, October 20: A man identified as Amar Chauhan has been charged with posting child pornography after reportedly uploading a video on Facebook. On October 17, a case was filed at Samata Nagar police station under sections 67 and 67(a) of the Information Technology Act. The accused is from a village in Kandivali East in Mumbai, Maharashtra.
According to the FIR, the Samata Nagar police got information about child pornography being published on a Facebook account from the National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). The Samata Nagar police department initiated an inquiry after getting this information. The cops discovered a Facebook account called Amar Chauhan.
Probe Underway
The cops uncovered two subfolders, one PDF file, and three additional files on this account. One folder featured graphic child pornography material, while another had filthy photographs of minors. The PDF file included contact information for a tip line, indicating that child pornography had been posted to Facebook. This featured a video posted at 12:05 am on May 5, 2020.
The probe is still going on. We got information from the National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children and launched an inquiry based on their tip, and found that a video of video pornography was uploaded by the accused on social media, said an official.
Previously, a criminal case has been filed against a man at Thane's Bazarpeth police station for allegedly sharing a child pornography clip online. The complaint was lodged when Thane's Cyber Cell police tipped off the local police. The complainant in the case, according to the police, is AA More, a police sub-inspector assigned to the Bazarpeth police station. According to investigators, the information contains a CD with a one-minute video clip showing an adult sexually assaulting a juvenile child.
