Mumbai, December 4: A special POCOS Court in Mumbai recently sentenced a 23-year-old man to two years imprisonment for molesting and thrashing his minor girlfriend. As per reports, the man molested and beat his girlfriends after she refused to continue their relationship. Police official said that the minor girl refused to continue the relationship after her boyfriend was allegedly booked for impregnating another woman.
According to a report in the Hindustan Times, the court observed that the accused used to lure girls in order to satisfy his lust. The court also said that the accused even went on to beat his girlfriend when she refused to continue the relationship. The court said that the accused can go to any extent and said that "only stern punishment will act as a deterrent for him". "In order to prevent him from committing a more serious offence on women, it would be fit and proper to give rigorous imprisonment of two years," the special court observed while sentencing the accused. As per reports, the accused and the victim were in a relationship. Police officials said that the minor stopped talking to him after learning about him being lodged in jail.
Cops said that the accused was booked for raping and impregnating a woman on the pretext of marriage. As his minor girlfriend was avoiding him, the accused insisted on meeting her and when the two met at Churchgate station, he fought with her claiming that she was cheating on him. When the girl refused to talk to him, the accused allegedly hit the girl. He even started thrashing her on the road and forcibly took her phone. Meanwhile, when the girl received a call from her uncle, the accused put the phone on speaker. Seeing a chance, the girl ran away from the accused. Following which, she registered a case against him with the Colaba police station.
