Mumbai, August 21: A 36-year-old man allegedly murdered his wife following a heated argument over household expenses in Mumbai's Goregaon area, police said on Wednesday. The accused got into a quarrel with his wife over some domestic expenses at their residence. In a fit of rage, he strangulated her to death. After realising what he had done, the accused tried to cover the murder. The couple were reportedly fighting over the money. The victim had refused to give him the cash she had kept aside for their children's school fee. In anger, the accused strangulated her to death. The postmortem has confirmed strangulation marks.

According to locals, the accused is an alcoholic. Meanwhile, he has been booked under relevant sections of the murder of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). A search is on to nab the accused.
