Mumbai, December 3: In a shocking incident that took place in Mumbai, a man was allegedly attacked with knife and iron rods by his brothers-in-law in Colaba. As per reports, the incident took place on Friday by his deceased wife's death after their sister died by suicide.
Police officials said that the accused have been identified as Ram Walmiki, Abhijit Walmiki, and their friend Sachin Walmiki. According to a report in the Hindustan Times, the 32-year-old man was allegedly attacked by his brothers-in-law. The accused attacked the victim with knife and iron rods in a market in Colaba. The incident took after a case was filed against the victim, Ravi Chauhan and his family for abetting suicide of the woman and treating her with cruelty. Police officials said that Chauhan, who was earlier was arrested was lodged in Arthur Road jail since the last three months.

As per reports, when crowd gathered, the trio fled from the spot, post which, Chauhan was taken to St George Hospital for treatment. "Ram and Abhijit's sister, Aarti, had married Chauhan. In June, she died by suicide," another police officer. After the incident came to light, the Colaba police booked the three accused under various sections of the Indian Penal Code.
