Mumbai Shocker: Bid To Kidnap 6-Year-Girl From Kandivali’s Ganpati Mandal Foiled, Accused Booked

Mumbai, September 8: In a shocking incident, a man, supposedly in his 20s, tried to kidnap a six-year-old girl who was playing at a Ganapati Mandal near her home in Kandivali east on Tuesday, Indian Express reported. However, a friend of the girl's father foiled the kidnapping bid when he confronted the suspect.

The incident took place when the minor's father Pankaj Singh was sleeping at his home in the Kaveri chaw and the girl was playing with other kids at around 11:40 am. The kidnapper approached the minor and took her with him on the pretext of showing more Ganapati idols.
The kidnapper allegedly picked the girl up on his shoulder and started running away when he was intercepted by Vikrant Godambe, Singh's friend. Singh, in his complaint to the police, said that the kidnapper was dressed in a t-shirt and shorts.

The accused has been booked under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and a search to nab him is on, cops added.
