Mumbai, June 6: In a shocking incident in Mumbai, a man allegedly assaulted his wife and son with a knife over a delay in bringing a birthday cake. The alleged incident occurred in Mumbai's Andheri area. After the incident, the accused fled to Latur. The incident came to light after the police were alerted about the incident.

The injured woman was rushed and admitted to Rajawadi Hospital, where she was treated and discharged. Meanwhile, the woman's son is still undergoing treatment. According to a report in Mid-day, the incident occurred on the woman's husband's birthday. The incident took place on her husband, Rajendra Shinde's birthday. Cops said that Shinde asked his wife to bring a cake for the birthday celebration. Although the woman had ordered a cake, the cake arrived late. This angered her husband and led to a heated argument between them. During their fight, Shinde started abusing his wife.

Their son tried to mediate and resolve the conflict, but all efforts were in vain. Amid the fight, Shinde attacked his wife's wrist with a kitchen knife. The complaint also told cops that her husband stabbed their son in the stomach. After which, he fled from the scene. The investigation team received information which led them to Latur, where they nabbed the accused. After arresting the accused, cops brought Shinde back to Mumbai. He has been remanded to police custody.
