The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has declared a holiday for the second session in all schools and colleges in the city and suburbs. This development comes a few hours after the civic body declared a holiday for the first session for all schools and colleges in Mumbai. The BMC said that the decision has been taken as a precautionary measure to avoid inconvenience to students. The civic body also said that the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in Mumbai today, July 8.
