Mumbai, July 2: In view of the incessant rainfall and water-logging in Mumbai and adjoining suburbs, the city's state-run bus service provider - Brihanmumbai Electricity Supply and Transport (BEST) has rejigged its routes through low-lying areas. The list of diversions has been issued by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).

Meanwhile, the train services are returning towards normalcy in the city with rainfall losing intensity over the past few hours. Waters have begun to recede from the tracks, allowing trains to become operational and operate closer to the schedule.

"There is no disruption on Western Railway. Trains are running normal between Churchgate-Virar. Water level has come down on all 4 lines at Nallasopara. Trains are running with some delay due to low visibility in section due to heavy rains and receipt of out station trains," said the statement issued by Western Railways.

Schools and colleges were ordered to remain closed today in view of the warning issued by the weather department. Several offices and industries also asked their employees to stay on leave or work from home as communting remained a strenuous task amid the incessant rains.
