Heavy rains have been lashing out in Vasai and Virar. Waterlogging has been reported in Evershine City, Vasant Nagri, and some areas of Ambadi road in the city.

Mumbai, July 1: Mumbaikars woke up to heavy rainfall on Monday with parts of the city receiving extremely heavy rainfall. However, the heavy downpour resulted in water logging on the streets causing massive traffic congestion. Commuters made their way through a waterlogged street following monsoon rains in Nala Sopara town of Palghar district in Maharashtra. Stay with us for live updates on Mumbai rains, current status of traffic in the city and status of local train services.

Local train services in Mumbai were largely affected and were running 30 mins late from their schedule time. Central Railways cancelled some passenger trains, particularly ones running between Mumbai and Pune.

According to Skymet, a private weather forecasting agency, Mumbai Rains have been very intense since last night. In the past 6 hours, between 11.30 pm last night to 5.30 am today, Mumbai has seen 63 mm of rain. Traffic in several routes diverted due to water logging.

In the wake of heavy rainfall, waterlogging and flooding was reported from areas like Dadar, Wadala, Worli, Kurla, Chembur, Bandra, Andheri, Kandivili, Vikhroli, Kanjurmarg and Bhandup, among others.
