The India Meteorological department (IMD) has issued heavy rainfall alert for tomorrow, Sunday, predicting massive downpour in Mumbai and suburban region.
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has warned citizens against venturing around the sea.
Flight operations have resumed to normal as the rainfall has lost intensity. Although the downpour continues, water levels have receded in most parts of the city.
"Flight operations, at the airport, are normal with a few delays," said the Public Relations Officer of Mumbai International Airports Limited (MIAL).
The orange alert, which was issued in Kalyan, Raigad, Thane and other peripheries of Mumbai suburban region, will continue to remain as rainfall is still continuing in the region.

Mumbai, July 27: Heavy rainfall continued to lash Mumbai on Saturday, triggering flood-like situations in several areas. In the wake of the incessant rainfall, waterlogging and traffic jams were reported in several parts of the city since Friday. The Indian Meteorological Department has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in Mumbai, Thane and Navi Mumbai in the next 24 hours. Moreover, in the wake of the current weather conditions, the weather department also issued an orange alert, as the authorities prepare for a heavy downpour. According to the IMD, the Konkan region was likely to be one of the wettest regions in the country during the next 24 hours as rainfall activity has increased significantly. In the wake of heavy rainfall, highways adjoining cities like Mumbai, Dahanu, Alibaug and Ratnagiri have been put on alert. There was massive waterlogging and traffic jams across the city, with no respite from the heavy downpour. Areas including Mumbai, Airoli and Navi Mumbai saw a sustained downpour since Friday morning.
Waterlogging was reported from several areas in Bandra, Andheri, Vidyavihar, Chembur, Airoli, and Nerul. Moreover, 17 flights were diverted and many delayed by up to an hour in Mumbai on Friday evening due to heavy rain and low visibility.
