KS Hosalikar, Deputy Director General (DDG), IMD tweeted, “Rainfall in last 24 hrs at morning 6.30 am today in Mumbai and around. Few stations reported heavy rainfall in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai. An IMD official told The Times of India that due to heavy-to-very-heavy rainfall possibility from 27 July, there may be flooding in low-lying areas. On Thursday, Palghar received more than 3 cm rainfall. A red alert was also issued for July 26 and July 28 in the district. Meanwhile, on July 24, Mumbai witnessed waterlogging and long traffic jams due to heavy rains. On Thursday, Santa Cruz observatory recorded 25.4 millimetres and Colaba 11.6 millimetre.
