Heavy rainfall continues to lash parts of Mumbai. Due to the incessant downpour, waterlogging has been reported in several areas triggering to traffic snarls in Dadar, Sion, Matunga, Parel, Santa Cruz, and Andheri.

Both Vistara and IndiGo have alerted their passengers to check the status of their flights before they leave home and to expect delays.

Mumbai, July 24: Mumbai experienced very heavy rainfall in the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday, as a result of which there is waterlogging in several areas of the city. According to the prediction, the wet spell is likely to continue till the weekend. Commuters leaving for work on Wednesday morning can expect water-logging, train delays and traffic snarls across the city as Mumbai rains are expected to remain intense in the next two-three hours.

Skymet Weather App predicts that Mumbai rains may see an increase in intensity around July 26 and it may get heavier between July 27 and 28. According to the weather forecast, these showers will get hefty and three-digit rains are expected. Indian Meteorological Department predicted heavy rains on Tuesday night and keeping this in mind, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) was on alert and they kept assistant engineers on standby in every ward of the city.

According to an ANI update, the railway tracks at Sion Railway Station have submerged, following the heavy rains in the city. Central Railways have tweeted saying the services are running smoothly.
