Water logging situation in Thane under control, confirms DCP traffic. He said, "Since morning, using ropes and boats, entire Thane city police, has rescued many people who were stuck in floodwater after heavy rains in Kalyan-Dombivli, Bhiwandi, Ulhas, Thane, etc. The overall situation is under control."
"Police alert in all police stations of Thane, Bhiwandi, Kalyan, Dombivali, Ulhasnagar, Ambernath and Badlapur areas affected by heavy rainfall. We are responding to all distress calls on priority. Citizens are requested to show patience and caution," tweeted Thane Police.

Mumbai, August 4: Local train services on central and harbour lines in Mumbai were hugely affected as heavy rains continued to lash the city on Sunday. On harbour line, local train services between Vadala and Panvel were suspended due to waterlogged tracks following torrential rainfall in Mumbai. On central line, local train services from CSTM to Kalyan, Khopoli, Kasara and Karjat were unavailable. The Thane-Panvel trains on trans harbour line and services on western line were running delayed.
In a series of tweets, the Central Railway informed that tracks were flooded in Badlapur, Ambernath and Chunabhati stations. “Due to continuous heavy rains, there is accumulation of water between Ambernath and Badlapur and on harbour line at Chunabhatti. Therefore, rail traffic has been suspended beyond Ambernath and on Harbour line between Vadala and Kurla,” Central Railway tweeted. Several commuters were seeen stranded at different stations due to suspension of local train services in view of incessant rainfall.
The IMD has issued a red alert for Mumbai, the west and central Maharashtra, including the ghats. It has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in Mumbai for today. It has already been raining heavily since Friday and it poured the whole night as well.
