Central Railways informs all corridors operational. It has asked commuters to adjust with slow speed for the time being.It said, "Fast corridor between CSMT and Kalyan also operational from 18.21 hrs. The trains will be running at cautious speed for some time to clear midsection bunching. Please bear with us."Adding on, it said, "CSMT (Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus)-Vashi route cleared. Services on this section also resume. All Central Railway suburban corridors are now operational."
With heavy rains slowing down the commuting in Mumbai and suburbs, Central Railways and BEST make alternative arrangements.Here's the list:1) 18 Buses have left from Vadala Road to Vashi till now.2) Bus services being provided from CSMT to Sion and CSMT to Vashi. 6 buses already left.3) CSMT to Kurla and onwards services starting in 15 minutes. Mumbai, August 3: Heavy rains that started Friday evening continued in Mumbai and its suburban areas, Thane, Navi Mumbai and Palghar districts on Saturday morning. Following heavy rains, roads in low-lying areas of Mumbai were waterlogged which disrupted traffic. Local train services, however, on Centra, Harbour, Western and Trans Harbour lines were running normally despite the continued downpour. On July 27, heavy rains left railway tracks flooded at Vangani, around 90 km from Mumbai. Due to the flooded water tracks, the Mahalaxmi Express stranded for nearly 18 hours in heavy floodwaters. Two Indian Air Force (IAF) helicopters and six boats of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) later rescued around 1,500 passengers stranded in the Mahalaxmi Express train. After a weeklong lull, the monsoon revived with full force in Mumbai on July 24 disrupting normal life for most of the day. Heavy rains had caused waterlogging in many low-lying areas, flooded railway tracks and huge traffic snarls. Office-goers and students alike were hit due to crawling traffic, besides suburban trains running late by 15-25 minutes on the Central Railway and minor delays on Western Railway.
