The metropolis received torrential rains since Friday with the IMD warning of heavy showers in the coming days. The heavy showers in the city led to waterlogging and flooding in several areas majorly in Sion, Andheri, Kurla, Badlapur, Ambernath and Kalyan. The situation worsened on Friday night as the heavy downpour caused massive traffic congestion and hit rail and flight operations. Commuters were in for trouble as waterlogging slowed down traffic and submerged railway tracks.
