The heavy rainfall the city witnessed overnight has reportedly resulted in train delays, traffic congestion on highways and flooding in areas across the city. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), a user said there had been heavy rainfall with loud thunder from 2 AM in Chembur. Another user said the railway tracks have been underwater at Bhandup and Kurla stations. A third user stated that Mumbai received heavy rainfall above 150 mm in several areas.
