The office of CMO Maharashtra tweeted that the "State Government is in touch with NDRF, Army,Navy & other agencies too." Heavy Rains continued to lash the city of Mumbai and affected the railway network for a second day in a row on Sunday. Though it's a holiday for office goers, commuters faced trouble as Central and Harbour lines were closed following the downpour. Residents were evacuated from around Mithi river have been provided relief camp at Kranti Nagar.
Meanwhile, Thane Police tweeted, "Police alert in all police stations of Thane, Bhiwandi, Kalyan, Dombivali, Ulhasnagar, Ambernath and Badlapur areas affected by heavy rainfall. We are responding to all distress calls on priority. Citizens are requested to show patience and caution."
