Mumbai, August 5: Following the torrential rains in the maximum city, life has come to a standstill. It has led to immense waterlogging in several areas, traffic snarls, train cancellation and also flight delay. The local train services were paralysed and according to Central Railway's latest tweet, all suburban services have resumed and are running till Kasara.

With the weather department predicting heavy rains on Monday, the state government has declared a holiday in Mumbai, Thane, Palghar and Raigad. Mumbai Schools and Colleges to be Shut on Monday Amid Heavy Rains as Maharashtra CM Declares Holiday, Emergency Services to Remain Open.
Thousands of passengers stranded in LTT platform:
After the incessant rains, 12 trains were cancelled, six trains short terminated, two trains partially cancelled, and one each diverted and rescheduled, due to heavy rainfall, waterlogging, and boulder fall between Apta-Jite section of Central Railway. This left thousands of passengers stranded at Lokmanya Tilak Terminus.

Government has appealed people to stay safe at home until and unless it is necessary for them to step out. The state government and the BMC also informed that private and essential services will remain open.
Based on the assessment of evolving situation and prediction of rainfall by IMD, four teams of NDRF airlifted from Vadodara, Gujarat will land in Mumbai and will be deployed in following districts of Maharashtra. One team in Aurangabad, Ahmednagar, Kolhapur and in Ratnagiri.
