Mumbai Rains: City Likely to Receive Rainfall Today; Thane, Navi Mumbai, Palghar also brace for Unseasonal showers
According to details by Regional Meteorological Department, Mumbai, the city will witness cloudy sky with light rains. The rainfall is likely over city and suburbs including Thane, Navi Mumbai and Palghar during the next 24 hours. The maximum temperature is going to be 32 degree celsius while the minimum will go up to 21 degree celsius.
Mumbai, December 22: Mumbai is all set to receive another spell of unseasonal rains over the next 2 days, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said. The rainfall in December can be attributed to a low pressure area that has been formed over south-central Arabian Sea. Reports infirm that there are two low-pressure systems in the Arabian Sea, with the one in the east-central Arabian Sea being closer to the Maharashtra-Goa coast. The rainfall is likely over city and suburbs including Thane, Navi Mumbai and Palghar during the next 24 hours. According to a report by TOI, Sunil G Kamble, scientist, IMD said the current weather condition in Maharashtra is due to multiple weather systems. Kamble added that the IMD have forecast rain for Mumbai, Palghar, Thane on Sunday, and for parts of Raigad on December 22 and 23.
According to private weather agency Skymet Weather, light rains and thundershowers may lash Mumbai around December 22 and 23. The report added saying that rains would not be significant one but clouding would persist which would bring down the day temperatures. Earlier this week, light rains was reported from several parts of the city, including Thane, Dadar, Kalyan, and Mulund.
