Mumbai Rains: BMC Urges Citizens to Avoid Venturing Near Sea And Walking in Waterlogged Areas Following IMD's Heavy Rainfall Warning
Following heavy and continuous rainfall in the city, there has been waterlogging in several areas. BMC in its tweet has urged citizens to take care and avoid venturing near the sea or walking in waterlogged areas on Wednesday as well because IMD has predicted heavy rainfall.

IMD has issued an 'Orange alert' for Mumbai and Thane for Wednesday. The weather department has predicted that the two cities will receive heavy to very heavy rain at isolated places today.
According to the Skymet weather app, Mumbai has recorded three-digit rainfall to the tune of 103 mm in a span of 21 hours until 5:30 am today.
Mumbai witnessed water-logging in several parts of the city, after hours of rainfall in the metropolis and adjoining areas. Water-logging has occurred in the areas near Mumbai's King Circle railway station and Gandhi market.

Earlier on Tuesday, Mumbai police had warned the public of heavy rainfall, urging them to take precautions. Mumbai Police's tweet on Tuesday read, "IMD authorities have indicated high rainfall weather for Mumbai and other adjoining districts for the next two days. Please take adequate precautions and ensure safety. Dial100 in case of an emergency. Take care Mumbai."
The rainfall in Mumbai is a result of a cyclonic circulation which is still persisting over the South Gujarat region. In addition to this, there is also a low-pressure area which is over Odisha and adjoining areas. Moderate spells are likely to continue with isolated heavy spells over some pockets of Mumbai and suburbs.
