Mumbai Rain Shocker: Flooded Roads Force Relatives to Tie Man’s Corpse on the Roof of a Auto Rickshaw for His Last Rites
For the past one week, heavy rain has been lashing the city, due to which several rail-related incidents have been reported in and around Mumbai. As per reports, in the first month of monsoon itself, 38 deaths and 56 injuries ranging from house collapse to drowning to potholes and to tree fall have been reported.
Mumbai, July 16: In a shocking incident reported in Nallasopra, the neighbouring city of Mumbai, a 35-year -old man died due to electrocution after he came in contact to a live electric wire. However, after his death, his relatives tragically took his last rites procession on a roof of an auto rickshaw as the area was flooded with rainwater and there were no vehicles to take him to the crematorium as per a news report in Mirror Now.
According to reports, the deceased identified as Rajkumar Kishorilal Jaiswal, a resident of Hanuman Nagar, Vedant Building, lost his life after he got electrocuted by a live wire. Furthermore, the ambulances of the area were unable to move on the flooded roads. So, the corpse was tied on the roof of an auto rickshaw and his relatives were seen pushing the vehicle. The body was then carried to Samelpada crematorium for the final rituals.

Amid heavy rains in the last few days, Nallasopra was badly affected. Several houses on the ground floor were completely submerged under water. Flooding at several places left the entire area in a lurch for a few days since many parts did not have electricity. Even the railway service of western lines connecting Virar to Churchgate was suspended due to waterlogging on rail tracks.
