Mumbai-Pune Expressway Traffic Restrictions: Yashwantrao Chavan Expressway To Remain Closed for Vehicular Movement on May 23; Check Timings and Alternate Routes

Mumbai, May 22: A traffic advisory has been issued as the Mumbai-Pune Expressway will remain closed for one hour on Thursday, May 23. According to reports, the Mumbai-Pune Expressway, also called Yashwantrao Chavan Expressway, will be closed for one hour from 12 noon to 1 pm on May 23. The expressway will be closed to vehicular traffic due to the installation of a gantry.
According to reports, the Mumbai-Pune Expressway will remain shut for one hour on Thursday as the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) installs gantries along the Yashwantrao Chavan Mumbai-Pune Expressway. In an official release, the MSRDC said that vehicular movement on the expressway will be completely stopped for one hour on Thursday, May 23. However, the corporation said motorists can take alternate routes to reach their destination. As per the release, vehicles coming to Mumbai from Pune via the expressway will be diverted through the old Mumbai-Pune highway on NH 48.
Similarly, vehicles coming from Pune to Mumbai will be diverted from Khopoli exit NH 48 to continue their journey to Mumbai after crossing the Shedung toll. On the other hand, MSRDC said that light and heavy vehicles coming from Pune to Mumbai would be diverted from the last lane at Khalapur exit as they would continue their journey through the old Pune-Mumbai highway after passing Khopoli town to the Shedung toll. The corporation also said that light and heavy vehicles coming to Mumbai from Pune from the expressway will take the Panvel exit, after which they can continue their journey towards Mumbai. The official release also stated that vehicles coming from Pune to Mumbai through NH 48 will be diverted towards Panvel from the Shedung Phata.
