Mumbai: Portion of 3-Storey Building Collapses in Crawford Market; 2 Rescued
A portion of a three-storey building collapsed at Crawford Market area in Mumbai on Tuesday evening. A total of seven fire tenders have rushed to the spot. Currently, rescue operations are underway. Two people have been rescued till now.
Mumbai, September 10: A portion of a three-storey building collapsed at Crawford Market area in Mumbai on Tuesday evening. A total of seven fire tenders have rushed to the spot. Currently, rescue operations are underway. Two people have been rescued till now. According to reports, the portion of the structure known as Yusuf building collapsed at 9:13 pm. The structure was classified as an MHADA Cess building, reported Mumbai Mirror. An ambulance has also been sent to the spot. In July this year, 14 people lost their lives after four-storeyed Kesarbhai building had collapsed in Mumbai’s Dongri area. An FIR was registered against three people under sections 304 (A), 338, & 337 in connection with the Dongri building collapse. In 2017, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation had already warned the residents about the dilapidated condition of the building.
