Mumbai Police Warns Mumbaikars of Water Logging in Wadala, Hindmata, Chembur, Mankhurd & Other Locations Amid Heavy Rains Alert

The city Police has asked people to be alert of water-logging in Mala Garden and Ganesh Mishthanna in Sion area, Sakkar Panchayat Marg, R.A.K Marg near Wadala Station, Hindmata Junction, Postal Colony in Chembur, Maharshtra Nagar in Mankhurd, Shivaji Chowk.

Mumbai, September 8: In the wake of heavy rainfall prediction in Mumbai, the Mumbai Police has urged Mumbaikars to take adequate precautions and ensure safety. In its tweet, the Mumbai Police has advised people in the metropolis about water logging in several areas including Sion, Mahalaxmi, Kurla, Chembur, Wadala and other locations. The city Police has asked people to be alert of water-logging in Mala Garden and Ganesh Mishthanna in Sion area, Sakkar Panchayat Marg, R.A.K Marg near Wadala Station, Hindmata Junction, Postal Colony in  Chembur, Maharshtra Nagar in Mankhurd, Shivaji Chowk. The IMD authorities have indicated intense spells of rainfall in Mumbai for the next 4 hours. Other coastal districts neighbouring the metropolis are also likely to witness a heavy downpour. "Considering weather conditions, We request Mumbaikars to take adequate precautions & ensure safety. Dial 100 or contact @MumbaiPolice in case of any emergencies", the tweet by the city police read.

Due to incessant rains, Gadchiroli region in Maharashtra has been facing a flood-like situation. The IMD has also issued a red alert for parts of Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha and Telangana. According to details by private agency Skymet Weather, parts of Maharashtra have recorded more than 100 mm rain in just 24 hours. It added saying that Pune and Mumbai will continue to receive heavy rainfall in the coming days.
