Mumbai, September 25: The last day of Ganesh immersion was marked on Sunday. On that day, Police control room received at least 3,000 calls from the residents complaining about multiple violations in the city. “On occasions like these, the number of calls doubles. But on Sunday, apart from managing the crowd and conducting bandobast duty, we had to be on our toes to answer these calls. Several people called throughout the day, complaining about different violations in their area,” said a Police officer while speaking to Indian Express.
During the 10 days, Ganesh Utsav around 261 cases of mobile thefts was received at Kalachowkie police station. The police official said that they have formed special teams to attend to these complaints. However, the police added that thieves from other parts of the country also come to the city to take advantage of these massive crowds during Ganesh Chaturthi.
