Mumbai, October 21: Mumbai police on Friday arrested a 38-year-old bank employee for allegedly blackmailing and raping her repeatedly. The woman lodged a complaint against the accused in the police station at Marine Drive on the advice of her friend. According to a report published in The Times of India, the police booked Vilas Krishna Kadam, a resident of Lower Parel for rape, assault, threat, intentional insult with intent provoke breach of peace. The 38-year-old banker’s mobile containing victim’s pictures has also been seized by the police. According to the report, both of them met in 2008 when they were working in the same bank and between 2013 and 2015 they came were in a consensual physical relationship. The woman in a complaint said that a few months prior to marriage, the victim asked Kadam to end the relationship, but he refused. According to the report, she further alleged that in 2017, the accused called her to a lodge near Sena Bhavan, Dadar for having a final talk, but he raped her. Even after the marriage, Kadam used to message her and forced her to meet. He even got her husband’s number and blackmailed her. The 38-year-old banker also asked the victim for sending nude pictures of her.
