Mumbai: One Rescued, Two Stuck Inside Septic Tank After Trucks Hits Slab at MHADA Colony in Chembur, Rescue Operation Underway

Mumbai, April 3: Three people including a woman and a child fell in an underground septic tank at the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) colony in Mumbai's Chembur area on Wednesday. According to a tweet by ANI, one person has been rescued while the other two- woman and a child, are still stuck inside the septic tank. As soon as the incident was reported, police was rushed to the spot.
Reports inform that all the three fell in the tank after a truck hit the slab covering the tank during the early hours on Wednesday. The rescue operation underway, police also present at the spot. According to reports, locals alerted the fire brigade control room about the incident at 10.08 am that people have fallen into the septic tank located at Vashi Naka in Chembur. An official said, as soon as the incident was reported, a team of fire brigade personnel was rushed to the spot and efforts were on to rescue the victims.
Earlier in January, tiny body parts of an unidentified person were found in the septic tank of a seven-storey building in Virar. The gruesome incident came to light after sanitation workers entered the septic tank following the complaints of residents of choked washrooms.
