Mumbai, January 28: A 7-year-old boy in Mumbai's Shivaji Nagar was murdered by his uncle on Saturday, January 26, 2019. The boy had gone with his uncle for the flag swearing ceremony on Saturday but did not return. When the boy's parents asked Naushad Allauddin Ansari, 22, the uncle of the boy about why the child was not back, he said that he went for some work and told the boy to return. Naushad also said that he wasn't aware about the boy's disappearance until he reached home. Later, on Sunday, the police received a call around 9 am saying that a body was found under the parking lot in Deonar. When the police inquired, they got to know that a boy has been missing from Shivaji Nagar. There were several stab wounds on the body of the boy, said the police. The police then interrogated the boy's uncle who first denied any wrongdoing. However, the police sensed something was wrong and hence persisted with the interrogation.
The uncle of the boy finally accepted that he killed his nephew Mohammed Irfan by stabbing him on the chest as his brother and sister-in-law did not give him food. The neighbours however claimed that Naushad was an alcoholic and had fights with this brother as he would ask for extra money.
