Mumbai, August 21: A session court in Mumbai recently sentenced a man to life for allegedly killing his wife with a grinding stone in Mulund. The alleged incident took place in Mulund back in 2016. The accused, a 47-year-old Mulund resident, was reportedly awarded imprisonment for life for murdering his wife.
While announcing the sentence, the judge said the accused even suspected his wife's character. According to a report in the Times of India, the judge also said that it was proved that the accused identified as Rajesh Dandavat, often fought with his wife, drank and did not work. The judge also stated that the accused even wrote three letters establishing that he suspected his wife was in a relationship with another man. "When deceased refused to reside with him, he, under the fear of losing her and under the fear that she might go with another person, committed her murder," judge Madhuri M Deshpande said.
Speaking further, the judge also stated that public prosecutor Meera Choudhari-Bhosale answered all questions convincingly in her argument to the court's satisfaction. In a separate incident, the Mumbai police last month arrested a 32-year-old man for allegedly killing his wife in Wadala. The incident came to light after cops were informed about the death of Roshni Inanarkar (28) by doctors at KEM Hospital. "Rajesh Innarkar strangled her on Thursday morning in their home in Sanman Nagar on Wadala-Sewri Cross Road," a police officer said.
