Mumbai: Minor Brutally Assaulted on Children's Day by 42-Year-Old Woman in Building's Lift in Trombay; Video Goes Viral

Mumbai, November 16: In a shocking incident, a four-year-old girl from Maharashtra Nagar in Trombay was allegedly beaten and confined in her building’s lift on Children’s Day by a 42-year-old woman staying in the same apartment. The entire incident was caught on the CCTV camera installed in the lift. Police arrested the accused, Rizwana Shaikh and booked her under Section 394 of IPC for robbery and assault. According to a report published in Mumbai Mirror, the family of the girl, Jahnavi alleged that Shaikh wanted to kill her. The family also demanded that the accused should be charged with attempt to murder. In the video, Shaikh was seen brutally assaulting the child for five minutes. She did not even allow anybody to enter the lift. The four-year-old victim stays on the fourth floor of Sai Sadan building with her parents. According to the report, she was playing with her brother when the 42-year-old woman called her to the lift. The residents of the building called the police when the accused refused to leave the girl. The mother of the minor demanded severe punishment for the 42-year-old accused.
