Mumbai, January 23: The Mumbai Metro has launched a new monthly pass scheme for the commuters for unlimited rides. The monthly pass for unlimited rides will cost the commuters Rs 1,400 between Ghatkopar and Versova.
At present, the Mumbai monthly pass offers only 45 trips on the entire network and costs Rs 1375. According to a report, published in the Money Control, the new monthly pass for Mumbai Metro will cost just Rs 25 more than the existing price. However, the old pass will still be available after the introduction of the new pass. Another report, published by Times of India, claims that on a daily basis around 4.5 lakh commuters use the Mumbai Metro on a weekday. Apart from the Mumbai Metro Card, Mumbai Metro One recently introduced QR-coded tickets as well.

Informing about the latest development, an MMOPL spokesperson said, "We will launch a new product in the form of monthly pass from January 23, which will allow commuters to take unlimited rides during the validity period of the pass. The pass will not be transferable."
